WIP: The Pinwheel and the Cold

“Baby it’s cold outside”…not only listening to the song (the Rufus Wainwright version) but literally it is cold in Peloponessus…and nobody is buying petroleum for the heater, only wood for their fireplace. Our house is really “windy” and no fireplace is enough to heat it. So we stay by the fireplace and far away from my sewing room. Everyday I transport the essential sewing supplies to a table next to the fireplace, in order to sew something!!!Enough whining….I finished the top of my Pinwheel crib quilt…finally.

Enough whining….I finished the top of my Pinwheel crib quilt…finally.

I used 2 Charm Packs, the Oliver & S “Cape Ann” and “Hoo’s in the Forest” by Riley Blake. Of course the background is Kona cotton.

Working a lot on some tobacco pouches and pencil cases, some of which are available in my Etsy Shop.

Now my stats:

Currently in progress:

Butterfly quilt: preparing the backing
Checkers quilt: piecing whenever there is time
Dresden quilt: still hand-quilting

This week’s stats:
Completed projects – 0
New projects -0 (but thinking of two)
Currently in progress – 4

Now it is your turn! Link your own progress at Freshly Pieced and take a peek on how everyone else is doing.

PS. By the way I love her new logo!!!
Welcome to Zarkadia Quilting Co.!

Quilts are the most intimate and personal of objects. They connect us with each other to the primal ground of the bed-the place we spend half our lives; where we are born, sleep, have sex, and die; the place where we replenish ourselves and dream our dreams; the place of nurture and healing, where we retreat in sickness and frailty; and the place where we receive the comfort and care of those who love us.

You are right about the sashing… I am now thinking of a swoon quilt with a navy background….it will be fantastic.
