Star Sashing baby quilt

Another baby quilt that I designed and pieced back in 2015, but I never got to finish it due to the baby coming (I’m always blaming Orestis). But I still adore those fabrics, and these little aqua stars.

This baby quilt is for SALE in my Shop SOLD.

You can find it here:

star sashing baby quilt

I quilted the quilt by using the stitch-in-the-ditch method. I recently came to love this quilting, because it is fast and it generally gives a decent result.

The truth is that I really hate sashing my blocks. If I can avoid it, I will. And I am more drawn to designs that don’t have sashing. But this adorable star sashing baby quilt has been on my pinterest list for ages, and I just had to make it. What about you? Who else hates sashing?

Thank you for reading, have a nice weekend, and don’t forget to stop by my Instagram account @zarkadia to keep track on what I’m doing and maybe say hi once in a while!

  1. This is darling. I loves the stars in the sashing. I find that I would rather add sashing than match a bunch of points, but I don’t add sashing to everything.

  2. I think it is sweet! Those little aqua stars are the cutest. I don’t like or dislike sashing. Many blocks require a little “setting apart”. Good job!
