Farmer's Wife Quilt week 23: Quilt blocks 24 Country Path and 26 Cut Glass Dish

Some blocks come together almost effortlessly, while others encourage me to slow down, pay attention to every seam, and enjoy the rhythm of piecing. That's exactly what keeps the Farmer's Wife Quilt Sampler so inspiring. Every block is a fresh start. And the next batch was a pretty complicated one. This week I completed Block 24 – Country Path and Block 26 – Cut Glass Dish , two quilt blocks that showcase just how varied classic patchwork can be. Block 24: Country Path This block has a lovely sense of movement. As I arranged the fabrics, I found myself paying close attention to value rather than colour. The contrast between lights and darks really helps define the design and gives the block its character. One of my favourite parts of making these Farmer's Wife blocks is experimenting with fabric combinations.
