Square quilts, Three, WIP

Square quilts are now numbered

I have tried to commit myself into making a certain number of square quilts each month. Well…(jajaja) you know, having a baby, makes those kind of promises a joke, an everyday joke. I have been falsely kidding myself that this is doable. No, it’s not! Apparently!

So I have only made some square quilt tops, that I cannot get the time to transform them into an actual quilt. But I couldn’t also find the time to even write a bloody blog post, about them!

Stop the nagging for now, and these are my most recent tops. Oh, and one more thing I decided to just number the square quilts I make, rather than naming them. Let’s see where it gets me.

Experiment no. 98 Randomly choosing fabrics that match with each other.  Result. SUCCESS.

Here I “matched” some navy solid cotton with a few Sarah Jane prints, a Riley Blake print which I do not remember the designer (the one with the foxes…if anyone remembers plz do tell), and a Lecien polka dot and a deer fabric. I had a more girly quilt in mind, although I hate discriminating colors, customers love girly quilts.

Ok. I will openly admit it, that I absolutely adore the Print Shop line. This is (until now) my all time favorite fabric line. And I think that Alexia Marcelle Abegg is a total genius. (Hi 5, whoever agrees with me!). And I have bought more from this line.

But in a desperate attempt to get over this adoration, I tried to cut all of it and make a couple of square quilts. I managed to piece one, so far. And I have it hanged beside me and I keep starring. That’s it. I said it!

This is the square quilt that smells summer. Summertime. By the sea, sand and sunscreen. Oh, definitely sunscreen.

It is almost entirely made from Charm Packs from different lines: Seaside by October Afternoon, Salt Air by Cosmo Cricket, Botany by Lauren and Jessi Jung (Moda fabrics) and a couple of Bella solid charms.

All these quilts will be available in my Etsy Shop.

Here are a couple of other square quilts I’ve made, in case you where wandering. 1 and 2
