I finished some square quilts

And never posted about them!

Back in 2018, I finished three baby quilts that I never managed to post or talk about them and they are really worth of talking about. So here I go.

I’ll start by saying that this quilt is already sold, it was one of my favorites from the start, mainly because of the cute fabrics that were used.

Quilt Process

The quilt was machine pieced and machine quilted.

Quilting: I tried Free Motion Quilting scallops, and I really enjoy them. The get quickly quilted.

Quilt dimensions: 42” x 49” (107 x 125 cm)

Materials used

All materials are 100% cotton.

Quilt front: I used a large number of different fabric lines for his cute quilt. Some of them are:

  • Children at Play by Sarah Jane (Michael Miller fabrics)
  • Some Lecien fabrics. (Absolute favorites!)
  • Navy solid cotton

Backing: This backing was one of the first fabrics I had bought back in 2009 (Perfect pattern by Alexander Henry fabrics). And I saved it. For many years. Until this quilt top came up! Do you sometimes start a quilt by just choosing the backing? I think this was it! I first chose the backing and then made my fabric choices for the front piece.
Binding: Simple basic navy stripes.
Batting: 100% cotton.

Date made: May 2017 – October 2017

And now! My absolute all time favorite fabric line! I swear this is it! Print Shop by Alexia Abegg (Cotton & Steel fabric). Just admiration and awe.

And these are some of my favorite colors for this year. This beautiful, fun quilt has been siting in my UFO cabinet waiting to be quilted, and fortunately it is finished!
