Bowtie quilt pattern

Lifesaver, My first quilt pattern

I can’t even describe how excited I am to have my first pattern out and launched in my Shop.

It was something that I needed to dedicate myself to, and I finally managed to organize myself enough to try it, and surely continue!

Lifesaver Quilt Pattern

The Lifesaver quilt is based on the classic Bowtie quilt block, and is using a two-block design to make a whole quilt. I wanted to incorporate a type of “signature” in my quilt designs, and the 16-Patch block seamed like a good idea at the time. And it still does. You can find the pattern in the Shop.

Quilt Sizes

The pattern includes 2 different quilt sizes, a Throw quilt size at 64 x 64 inches and a Queen quilt size at 88 x 96 inches.

Precut Friendly

Lifesaver quilt was designed with yardage in mind, specifically solid fabrics, but soon it evolved into Fat Quarter friendly. So the pattern comes with four different Styles and full instructions on how to make each style. One of the styles is absolutely fat quarter friendly!

4 Quilt Styles Available!

The Lifesaver quilt pattern comes with four different quilt styles. Analytical cutting instructions are provided for every single style.

Style 1

The first design that started it all! A unified background fabric for the whole quilt but different colors for the lifesaver blocks.

Style 2

This design is my favorite. I used a one-color fabric for the lifesaver block and different background fabrics for each row.

Style 3

And of course I could avoid but including a more minimal quilt design, with a unified background fabric and a one color lifesaver blocks.

Style 4

This Style is my Fat Quarter friendly design. It uses a unified background fabric and a fat quarter for the lifesaver block.

Pattern Testers

Without the invaluable help of my pattern testers, I would have been lost in a sea of patterns! They have voluntarily offered their help and input and have elevated the pattern INCREDIBLY! A warm thank you to Joanne Harris (@turtlequilterjo) for making the final tech check of the pattern.

I would like to thank them all from the bottom of my heart!

Here are their gorgeous versions of the Lifesaver quilt!
