From the first time I saw this quilt pattern (by Emily Dennis of Quilty Love), it was instant love at first sight. Participating in the quilt-a-long, was the next logical decision.
The Expanding Stars quilt pattern was made as a present for two very dear people in my life, that will always be in my heart .
QUILT PROCESS
I chose to make one of the largest quilt sizes, which really made the quilting process very difficult.
Machine Quilting
The quilting process was particularly difficult in my home-sewing-machine, that has a small throat. So I chose to do the simplest quilting possible. Stitch-In-The-Ditch and a 5 inch distance between the stitched lines. And still it was really difficult to manage.

Pattern Used
The pattern I used is from Emily Dennis of Quilty Love and it is called (obviously!) Expanding Stars. An easy and straightforward pattern, that is suitable for all quilt sizes.
The packaging was a challenge for this really big quilt. I wanted a B I G box to fit the quilt in, and also to gift it in a really chic way. So again IKEA, the all-solution place.
I found the STUK series, that are polyester clothing boxes, and the ultimate size was available: 71 x 51 x 18 cm. The perfect packaging for a large quilt.

Hi, happy new year. I saw that you used kona fabrics for your last quilt. Do you have a source here in Greece? Thanks
